On Monday, 20 November 2017 at 12h, in the Great Hall of the Parliament, President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović will open the Eighth Session of the Children's Parliament.

The Session is organised on the occasion of 20 November, the day of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the recently implemented reporting before the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in Geneva.

The event will be attended by 50 representatives of the local children’s parliaments from 21 municipalities, namely two representatives of primary and secondary schools per school, also including representatives of vulnerable groups of children from all municipalities of Montenegro.

In addition to representatives of MP Groups in the Parliament of Montenegro, representatives of the Government of Montenegro, domestic institutions, and international organisations dealing with rights of the child were also invited to the session, as well as members of the diplomatic corps.

The Eighth Session of the Children’s Parliament will be preceded by the setting up of the exhibition of artworks of children from India and “1 Jun” Center from Podgorica. The exhibition will be opened by the Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Genci Nimanbegu, at 11:30 in the hall of the Parliament.

The Eighth Session of the Children’s Parliament is organised by the Parliament of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Center for Children’s Rights of Montenegro, with support of the UNICEF Office and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
