Secretary General of the Parliament, Mr Aleksandar Jovićević, will participate at the Forum of Secretaries General of Parliaments of Western Balkan Countries, being held on 12 and 13 July in Warsaw. The meeting is organised by the National Democratic Institute (NDI), in cooperation with the Parliament of Poland.
The focus of the meeting are topics related to the formation and strengthening of parliamentary legislative and research services in a parliament, the work of specialised parliamentary groups, and the application of new technologies for more efficient management of parliamentary information and improvement of the transparency of parliament's work. In addition, the Secretaries General will have the opportunity to discuss recent achievements, good practice, and common challenges in the work of parliamentary services.
The Regional Forum is part of the NDI Initiative for Strengthening the Legislation of the Western Balkan Countries, which aims to support parliaments in strengthening legislative, oversight and representative capacities. The Warsaw Forum is the eighth meeting of the Secretaries General under the auspices of this initiative, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy.
