The Friendship Group holds a meeting with the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia

 

The Friendship Group of the Parliament of Montenegro with the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia met yesterday with the delegation of the National Assembly, headed by President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia Mr Milan Brglez, which stayed for a whole-day visit to Montenegro.

Head of the Friendship Group of the Parliament of Montenegro with the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Branimir Gvozdenović emphasised several aspects which put Slovenia among the greatest friends of Montenegro, pointing out continuous support in NATO and EU processes and developmental aid which Slovenia had been providing for a number of years.

Vice President Gvozdenović showed interest in learning about the good practice and experiences of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia in doing parliamentary activities, which would be applicable in the Parliament of Montenegro as well.

President Brglez voiced his pleasure over the fact that a friendship group had been formed in the Parliament of Montenegro and pointed out that such thing represented a significant contribution to strengthening of good and friendly relations of the two countries.

In that respect, it was agreed that in the following few months a plan of parliamentary cooperation would be drafted and areas of concern for improvement of relations between Montenegro and Slovenia would be noted.

In addition to President Brglez and Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Branimir Gvozdenović, the following attended the meeting: Head and member of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of Montenegro at the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia Mr Uroš Prikl and Mr Tomaž Lisec, members of the Friendship Group of the Parliament of Montenegro with the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia: Mr Andrija Nikolić, Mr Radule Novović, Mr Branko Čavor, and Mr Danijel Živković, as well as Ambassadors H.E. Mr Vujica Lazović and H.E. Mr Mitja Močnik.

Following the meeting, Vice President Gvozdenović hosted a working lunch organised in honour of the visit of the delegation of Slovenia, where they discussed concrete opportunities for cooperation.
