Montenegro - Bulgaria parliamentary Friendship Group meeting held

Perspectives for the development of bilateral cooperation discussed

The Parliament of Montenegro - National Assembly Republic of Bulgaria Friendship Group, headed by Chair of the Group Mr Tarzan Milošević, held a meeting with a delegation of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, headed by the Committee Chairperson Mr Kristijan Vigenin.

Bulgaria firmly supports merit-based assessment of the states on their European path, and sees Montenegro as a front-runner among the countries of the Western Balkans - this is the position of the Bulgarian parliamentary committee delegation.

Montenegrin and Bulgarian parliamentarians have agreed that it is necessary to intensify cooperation in all fields, therefore they discussed numerous possibilities and potentials in the field of economy, trade, tourism, sports and improvement of transportation ties with the aim of better connection of the two friendly states.

Aside from Chair of the Friendship Group Mr Tarzan Milošević, the meeting was attended by members of the Friendship Group Mr Andrija Popović, Mr Mihailo Anđušić, Ms Maja Bakrač and Mr Miloš Nikolić.

In addition to Chairperson of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds Mr Kristijan Vigenin, the delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria also consisted of Deputy Chairperson Ms Imren Mehmedova, as well as members of the Committee Ms Miglena Aleksandrova and Ms Polina Tsankova-Hristova. The meeting was also attended by Bulgarian Ambassador to Montenegro H.E. Mr Mladen Chervenyakov.
