Friendship Group holds a meeting with Ambassador of Israel

Willingness was expressed to intensify cooperation in the following areas: economy, tourism, healthcare, defence, science, education and sports

The Friendship Group of the Parliament of Montenegro with the Parliament of Israel today has met with the non-resident Ambassador of Israel to Montenegro, based in Israel, H.E. Ms Alona Fisher Kamm.

Chair of the Friendship Group of the Parliament of Montenegro with the Parliament of Israel and Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Branimir Gvozdenović welcomed the initiative for organising an economic forum in Podgorica, in September of the current year, which would contribute to the improvement of economic relations, as well as the establishment of cooperation between the Montenegrin and the Israeli businessmen.

Ambassador Ms Fisher Kamm congratulated the members of the Friendship Group on the upcoming Statehood Day, as well as on Montenegro’s NATO accession, and assessed that relations between Montenegro and Israel were traditionally friendly, but that there was room for improvement and making the cooperation between the two countries concrete.

The interlocutors agreed in assessment that bilateral cooperation needed to be intensified at the highest level, and voiced expectation that the Friendship Group with the Parliament of Montenegro would soon be formed in the Israeli Parliament, as was announced in today’s meeting.

In the meeting, willingness was expressed to intensify cooperation in the following areas: economy, tourism, healthcare, defence, science, education and sports, and a plan of concrete joint activities would be coordinated in the upcoming period.

The meeting was attended and actively participated in by the members of the Friendship Group of the Parliament of Montenegro with the Israeli Parliament, the following MPs: Mr Andrija Nikolić, Ms Daliborka Pejović, Mr Miodrag Bobo Radunović, Ms Jovanka Laličić, and Mr Andrija Popović, who provided constructive proposals for improvement of cooperation between Montenegro and Israel in various areas.
