Members of the Working Group for the Implementation of the Recommendations from the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission Final Report, met today with the delegation of the European Commission that has been paying a visit to Montenegro, as well as with the representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro.
The members of the Working Group presented the activities that were carried out in the previous period, with the aim of implementing recommendations from the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission Final Report.
They also pointed to the importance of the recommendations that needed to be implemented, as well as the importance of involving all stakeholders in that process. With regard to this, they explained that at the beginning of their work, they had issued the public invitation addressed to all who wanted to contribute to the strengthening of electoral legislation in the light of the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations.
The representatives of the European Commission delegation emphasised that the work of the Working Group has been extremely important and sensitive, since it dealt with the electoral legislation, and with this regard all activities should be done in a quality and transparent manner.
The meeting was attended by Mr Thomas Hagleitner and Ms Kirsi Pekuri on behalf of the Delegation of the European Commission, and on behalf of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, Ms Plamena Halacheva and Mr Vuk Uskoković.
