President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović will address MPs from 178 countries at the General Session of the 138th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union which is being held in Geneva. The IPU Assembly will be an opportunity for President Brajović and the delegation of the Parliament to meet with several international officials.
Mr Brajović will also meet the Speaker of the Swiss Parliament Mr Dominique de Buman.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union is a global organization based in Geneva and established in 1889, gathering 178 national parliaments. The Union’s activities were instrumental, among other things, in setting up the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague in 1889, the creation of the League of Nations in 1919 and the United Nations in 1945.
