Tomorrow, on 12 March 2019, a Slovak media expert Mr Rastislav Kužel will hold a presentation on “The role of the media in electoral process”, in the Blue Room of the Parliament of Montenegro, starting at 10h.
Introductory speeches will be given by President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic Mr Roman Hloben and Head of the OSCE Mission Ms Maryse Daviet.
Mr Kužel is a media and election analyst with considerable international experience, and he will speak about media monitoring, role of a media regulator during elections, media coverage of elections, as well as the role and impact of social media platforms during elections.
Appreciating the significance of the topic which is the subject of the announced event, the following were invited to attend: MPs who are also members of the Committee on Further Reform of Electoral and Other Legislation, associate members of the Committee from the academic community and NGO sector, as well as MPs who are involved in the working group in charge of media laws.
Representatives of the ODIHR and the EU Delegation to Montenegro announced their attendance.
The event organisers are the Parliament of Montenegro and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic to Montenegro, with the support of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro.
