The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has responded positively to the invitation of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Ivan Brajović, and will form a delegation composed of 22 members to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for 30 August.
The ODIHR also responded to the invitation of President Brajović, the Needs Assessment Mission of which for the parliamentary elections in Montenegro will pay a visit to our country next week. In line with the ongoing cooperation of the Parliament of Montenegro with this organisation on the improvement of electoral legislation, ODIHR representatives will talk to MPs who participated in the work of the Committee on Comprehensive Reform of Electoral and Other Legislation. The ODIHR mission will also meet with other institutions involved in the election process.
We remind of the fact that in the early May, the President of the Parliament of Montenegro sent letters to European officials, calling on their organisations to be actively involved in observing the upcoming election process in Montenegro.
