Chairperson of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget Mr Predrag Sekulić, member of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget Mr Filip Vuković, and MP Mr Janko Vučinić took part in the conference on “EU Fund Management:  EP Budget Control Authorities” , hosted by the European Parliament on 11 and 12 July 2018 in Brussels, Belgium.

The conference, organised by the Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group and the Committee on Budgetary Control, is part of the 2018 Support Programme for the Parliaments of the Enlargement countries. Apart from the delegations of the national parliaments of the enlargement countries, the conference was attended by MEPs, as well as members of the EU member states - the neighbouring countries of the Western Balkans and Turkey.

To the end of better management of the EU funds, the need for better cooperation of the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) with the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) was noted, whereby the 2017 performance reports of the OLAF and its supervisory committee were presented.

MEPs stressed that the conference was an opportunity for members of the national parliaments to present their role in controlling the spending of EU funds so that they can apply the best practices of the European Parliament in this area, in their respective parliaments.
