Former President of the Parliament Mr Marko Matković is buried in Herceg Novi

Former President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Marko Matković has been buried in Herceg Novi today.

He was born in Podi (Herceg Novi) in 1932. He spent his working life as director general of the Hotel and Tourist Enterprise “Boka”, and later as a prominent social and political worker. He was elected President of the Parliament of the Socialist Republic of Montenegro on 7 May 1985.

During his long and successful political career he was: Vice President of the Parliament of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, President of the Council of Republics and Regions of the Parliament of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, member of multiple working committees in the Parliament and the Council, President of the Parliament of the Socialist Republic of Montenegro (1985-1986), member and Vice President of the Executive Council of the Socialist Republic of Montenegro during two terms, member of the Parliament of the Socialist Republic of Montenegro and the Parliament of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia during several terms, Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the League of Communists of Montenegro, member of the Presidency of the Socialist Republic of Montenegro, and President of the Socialist Union of Working People of Montenegro (SSRN CG).
