Mr Aleksandar Damjanović, MP, participated in the round table “Effectiveness of the Legislative Process and Parliamentary Transparency” organised by the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) within the Western Balkans Legislative Strengthening Initiative, in the Czech Parliament, on 28-29 March 2019.
During the event, through speeches and debates, the MPs and staff members of the six Western Balkans parliaments, including the parliaments of the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia, exchanged experiences and opinions on the effectiveness of the legislative process, parliamentary transparency, and their relations with the media and civil sector.
Furthermore, the topics covered in the round table included human and financial resources available to MPs in the course of fulfilling their parliamentary duties, as well as the strengthening of the parliament’s ties with the citizens. In this regard, the representatives of the Research Centre of the Parliament of Montenegro informed the participants about the comparative solutions in the work of legislative, research and HR services in the six Western Balkans parliaments. They also presented the work of the Regional Research Platform and “Barbara Prammer” Democracy Workshops.
