The First Meeting of the Committee on monitoring the application of the Law on Election of Councillors and MPs in the part relating to the media was not held due to lack of quorum.
The decision to close the meeting to the public was grounded in provision of Article 64a of the Law on Election of Councillors and MPs, according to which the right to monitoring by the media ends 24 hours before the election day.
It was assessed that any discussion on acting of the media during the election campaign, which would be led 24 hours before the election day, could violate the rules on pre-election silence.
