MP Damjanović takes part in the Conference in Ankara

The two-day Conference on the topic “Developing Effective Working Relationships between Supreme Audit Institutions and Parliaments” which took place in Ankara, Republic of Turkey, on 8 and 9 November, ended

 

The two-day Conference, organised by the Turkish Court of Accounts in cooperation with SIGMA, has gathered members of parliaments and representatives of the Network of Supreme Audit Institutions of EU Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries and the European Court of Auditors.

During the Conference, there was sharing of experiences and consideration of modalities of cooperation aimed at promoting relations between the supreme audit institutions and parliaments.

On day two of the Conference, MP Mr Aleksandar Damjanović participated as a panellist on the topic of follow up on findings and recommendations of state audit institutions by parliaments.

The Montenegrin delegation consisted of President and members of the Senate of State Audit Institution: Mr Milan Dabović, Mr Branislav Radulović, and Mr Nikola Kovačević.

Within the visit to Ankara, MP Mr Aleksandar Damjanović met with Chairperson of the Committee on Plan and Budget Mr Süreyya Sadi Bilgiç in the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey. The topic of their conversation related to strengthening of political and economic cooperation between Montenegro and the Republic of Turkey, where parliamentary cooperation and cooperation of lead committees dealing with the issues of budget had special significance. It was agreed that in the upcoming period, following the constitution of working bodies in the Parliament of Montenegro, as well as of the parliamentary friendship group between Montenegro and the Republic of Turkey, a meeting would be held between Turkish and Montenegrin parliamentarians aimed at further development of bilateral relations.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Montenegro to Turkey Mr Branko Milić.
