Students of Secondary Vocational School and Secondary School of Economics and Hospitality from Nikšić, as well as students of “Spasoje Raspopović” Secondary Vocational School from Podgorica today have visited the Parliament of Montenegro. The visit was organised by the NGO Hand of Friendship Foundation.
On that occasion they talked with a member of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Miodrag Vuković, who informed them on parliamentary activities and parliamentary procedures. They also mentioned the issues of minority rights and representation of Roma in the Montenegrin Parliament.
Participants in the visit included representatives of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, the NGO Hand of Friendship Foundation, and the aforementioned schools.
In the continuation of the visit, the students were informed on the responsibilities and functions of the Parliament, as well as its organisation and structure.
The students viewed the parliamentary art collection and collection of dynastic coats of arms, as well as an exhibition of documents from the parliamentary archive. They also toured the Great Hall and rooms in which parliamentary activities are carried out.
The visit was organised within the programme “Open Parliament”, which is aimed at increasing the degree of transparency and openness of work of the Parliament of Montenegro and at creating closer ties with the citizens, especially the young.
