Vice President Nimanbegu heads the delegation of the Parliament to visit Azerbaijan

Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro and Chair of the Montenegro - Azerbaijan parliamentary Friendship Group Mr Genci Nimanbegu is heading the delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro which will visit Azerbaijan tomorrow.  The visit is organised on the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The People's Republic of Azerbaijan was formed as a democratic parliamentary republic on 28 May 1918, and this was the first state system of this kind, not only in the Muslim world - but also in the world in general.
Unfortunately, despite the initial outstanding successes, this democratic republic was short-lived because it was involved in the October Revolution in the same year and became an integral part of the Soviet Union.
In addition to participating in the ceremonious  event, the Vice President of the Parliament will meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan - Montenegro parliamentary Friendship Group, as well as with other government and parliamentary high officials.
