Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Genci Nimanbegu has received today the newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to Montenegro H.E. Mr Robert Weber. The interlocutors exchanged opinions and information on the political situation in Montenegro and the region in a friendly atmosphere.
The Vice President informed Ambassador Weber on the Parliament’s activities following the end of boycott by a major part of the opposition, focusing on activities of parliamentary parties in the working group for reform of electoral legislation, aimed at improving electoral environment in Montenegro. He also informed him about the legislative solutions which would lead to an authentic representation of minorities in the Parliament.
Ambassador Weber particularly focused on the situation regarding ecology - especially the Ulcinj Salina as an ecological oasis, not only of Ulcinj and Montenegro but also of Europe, which was a key point of Chapter 27 (Environment).
Relations between Germany and Montenegro were assessed as good and friendly, with a remark that Montenegro had a worthy advisor in Germany, supporting it on its path towards the EU.
