Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Branimir Gvozdenović, in his capacity of the Chair of the Montenegro-China parliamentary Friendship Group has received today Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Montenegro H.E. Mr Liu Jin.
In the meeting they analysed the activities of the current projects in Montenegro in which the Chinese companies participate, especially the works on the highway and wind power plant Možur, and they also considered Montenegro’s potential as well as business and investment opportunities.
Vice President Gvozdenović and Ambassador Jin agreed on the need for a more focused cooperation in tourism, considering that China had become a world tourism emitting factor, and that it could greatly influence further tourism development of Montenegro.
The Chinese Ambassador pointed out the significance of multilateral cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative and the 16+1 mechanism which could enrich economic and bilateral relations of Montenegro and China.
The conversation focused on the cooperation at the parliamentary level, especially friendship groups, bearing in mind that this form of bilateral cooperation exists in both parliaments, and that this year such group with our Parliament was formed in the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China.
The interlocutors noted that cooperation at the friendship group level could help with further development of Montenegro-China relations, with focus on the fields of ecology, innovation, energy, science, culture, and education.
