Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Branimir Gvozdenović has met first Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates Mr Marwan Ahmed Ali Bin Ghalita, today in Dubai.
During the meeting, the establishment of a friendship group between the two parliaments was initiated, bearing in mind the importance and opportunities for bilateral cooperation through this form of relationship. In line with that, and with the aim of strengthening friendship and promoting mutual cooperation, signing of an agreement on the cooperation between the two parliaments was agreed, as well as formation of the friendship group. In addition, friendship groups can significantly enhance the development of political, economic, trade and relations in the field of cultural cooperation, as well as the exchange of information in legislative branch, while, through innovation and strengthening of the capacity of highly qualified labour force, it can have its role digital economy as well.
They assessed that there was a very high level of cooperation between the two countries, and in particular, welcomed the fact that United Arab Emirates was the largest investor in Montenegro in the past year.
In addition, the possibilities for providing technical assistance to Montenegro through the UAE TAP program were considered, and in that sense, a model of acceleration and strengthening of this type of support was agreed.
During the meeting, an invitation to attend the Global Council for Tolerance & Peace was handed to Mr Gvozdenović, by President of the organisation Mr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan.
