- Montenegro recognises the strategic ambition of Ukraine which wishes to become a full NATO and EU member, so in that regard it can count on the support of our country in the processes of meeting its vital state interests, emphasised the Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro and Chair of the Montenegro - Ukraine parliamentary Friendship Group Mr Genci Nimanbegu at his meeting with the Minister of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine Mr Vadym Chernysh.
Minister Chernysh informed Vice President Nimanbegu about the work of the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine stating that it had been established in order to attempt to find solutions and strategies for reintegrating the regions affected by the Russian military intervention in 2014, such as Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea.
The interlocutors agreed that Montenegro and Ukraine did not have any open issues and that therefore there was interest for further improvement of relations in the fields of tourism and economy, and that the current high-quality cooperation both at bilateral and international level, could and must be strengthened through the cooperation of the parliaments, representing the only legitimate political address for dialogue and resolving the current issues.
