Global Council for Tolerance and Peace donates ten thousand safety face masks to Montenegro

The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, headed by the Ambassador Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, made a donation to Montenegro in the form of safety medical masks. Over ten thousand of masks reached the Parliament of Montenegro today, to be forwarded to those standing in the first line of defence in the fight against coronavirus.

In a letter addressed to the Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Branimir Gvozdenović, Ambassador Al-Jarwan pointed out that these have been "strange times for humanity, and it encouraged us to propose emergency measures and use our expertise and networks to support every fellow citizen in the daily struggle against the colossal enemy of our societies."

Vice President Gvozdenović expressed gratitude for the humane gesture of this prestigious institution, with its President at the front, emphasising the importance of the contribution made by the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace in the midst of the situation all of humanity has been facing.

The Global Council for Peace is an international organisation aiming to lay down the principles and values of peace and tolerance in the world, with an emphasis on the younger population and with the support of the UN.

This global organisation stresses as basic principles the increase in the value of tolerance and the spread of a culture of peace, the fight against discrimination, racism, religious and ethnic and sectarian extremism, as well as the development of norms of international law that strengthens the principles of tolerance and peace.

Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Branimir Gvozdenović, began cooperation with the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Ambassador Al-Jarwan, during his visit to the United Arab Emirates, on the occasion of forming the friendship group with the Parliament of the United Arab Emirates, in November 2018.

Vice President Gvozdenović also participated in the Second Session of the Global Council for Peace and Tolerance in Tirana, in November 2018, when he discussed and deepened cooperation with President Al-Jarwan and members of the Council.
