President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today hosted newly appointed Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Montenegro Mr Abdulsalam Abdulsalam Hareb Obaid Al Romaithi. On this occasion, he said that Montenegro appreciated the extent of the UAE's investment and expressed the expectation that substantive cooperation would be further enhanced, particularly in the fields of tourism, health, education and culture. 

The interlocutors assessed that Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates served as examples of stability in their regions, and that they were very similar in terms of multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-cultural harmony fostered by both states.

During the meeting with Mexican Ambassador Mr Marco Antonio García Blanco, the interlocutors assessed that there was room for further improvement of friendly relations of Montenegro and Mexico, and that Friendship Group with Montenegro in the Congress of Mexico opened possibility for improving parliamentary cooperation.  

President Brajović informed the ambassador about the current political situation and Montenegrin foreign policy priorities and expressed his interest in intensifying cooperation in the field of economy, especially the maritime economy, agriculture and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. They also spoke about the candidacy of Mexican Senator Gabriela Cuevas Barron for the position of president of the Inter-parliamentary Union for the period 2017-2020. 

President Brajović expressed his condolences to the Mexican Ambassador with regard to the devastating earthquake which hit this country, causing great human and material losses.
