President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today has met President of the Republic of Serbia Mr Aleksandar Vučić, discussing with him numerous aspects of bilateral relations, including the issues of European integration and economic cooperation, especially in the area of infrastructure connectivity. They also talked about the situation of minorities in both countries. The interlocutors emphasised the importance of cooperation with mutual respect of strategic decisions and interests of the two countries.
In his statement after the meeting, President of the Republic of Serbia Mr Aleksandar Vučić thanked to Ms Maja Gojković and Mr Ivan Brajović for conducting good parliamentary cooperation.
- We talked about important topics for the overall cooperation of Serbia and Montenegro and on our joint European path and cooperation on that path, but we also talked about infrastructural connectivity, what else we can do and in which manner. I believe that in the years to come, people will be able to see better results - President Vučić said inter alia.
President Brajović said:
- I have to say that we quickly agreed on many political issues, and then devoted most of our conversation to concrete life issues, from the degree of concretisation of infrastructure to the development of tourism potentials. I really think that this is an indicator of a complete openness and my opinion is grounded that these are the best relations at the level of the leadership in of the two countries the last decade.
The bilateral visit programme to the Republic of Serbia will be continued by visit to Montenegro’s General Consulate in Sremski Karlovci, and meetings with President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Mr István Pásztor and President of the Provincial Government Mr Igor Mirović.
Meeting with members of the Montenegrin Diaspora will be held in Petrovaradin Fortress, when the exhibition "Collection of Paintings of the Parliament of Montenegro” will be opened.
