President of the Parliament and Head of the OSCE Mission talk on the application of the recommendations

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović has met Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro Ms Maryse Daviet, today in Podgorica.The interlocutors talked on the modalities of participation of the OSCE/ODIHR representatives in providing expert assistance to the Working Group set up by the Collegium of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro. The meeting was also attended by Ms Marta Šćepanović, Chairperson of the said Working Group.

President Brajović said that the electoral law of every state, including Montenegro, can be always additionally improved, reminding that the Report by the Observation Mission on October parliamentary elections contained the fewest recommendations for improving the electoral process.

  • By setting up the Working Group and expecting expert help from the OSCE, as the most relevant international institution for monitoring the election process, the Parliament has shown a responsible relation towards creating necessary preconditions for the application of the recommendations - the President of the Parliament stressed.

Ms Daviet said that this activity was a continuation of an excellent cooperation with the Parliament of Montenegro.
