President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Ivan Brajović, hosted today the Ambassador of Israel, Ms Alona Fisher-Kamm, who has been staying in Montenegro on the occasion of holding of the Conference "Gateway to the Balkans - Montenegro 2017".

Bearing in mind that the two legislatures formed friendship groups, the President Brajović stressed the readiness of the Parliament of Montenegro to strengthen cooperation with the Knesset of Israel, which would contribute to raising the overall relations between the two countries to a higher level.

The interlocutors jointly noted that the membership of Montenegro in NATO and the reforms that our country has implemented on its path to EU membership, made a significant contribution to the creation of a favorable investment environment, with the Ambassador of Israel emphasising that Montenegro, regardless of its geographic and population size, could represent the gateway for access to the markets of the countries of the Western Balkans. Renewable energy sources and tourism have been identified as areas of mutual interest for cooperation.
