- The judiciary of a country is a symbol of perseverance of all the human challenges and interests, first of all with regard to oneself and ones doubts, and then the closest relatives, compatriots and associates. The judiciary is never a case of Pyrrhic victory, but the attitude, the act and the action of the right over faulty, and the greatest motive for the judges, as well as the citizen, never to doubt in justice and freedom - said the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Ivan Brajović, today at the opening of Judiciary Days in Budva.
Mr Brajović said that with the amendments to the Constitution the conditions have been created for the denial of all kinds of speculations on political bias, since the President of the Supreme Court is elected by his peers. In addition, the President of the Parliament continued, the adoption of new legal solutions and harmonisation with international standards has created the preconditions of independence, impartiality and responsibility of both the courts and the judges.
- The Parliament, as a personification of the will of Montenegrin citizens, gives full support to the judiciary as a strong backbone of the rule of law, but also of European integration. The Parliament of Montenegro, with myself as the President, is of an opinion that the openning of chapters 23 and 24 to the closing of other chapters, has been neither a bugaboo nor temptation, but a motive for the Montenegrin society, and especially the judiciary, to continue with responsible work and fundamental reforms, to which the Parliament of Montenegro has expressed full confidence - the President of the Parliament of Montenegro said.
