President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Ivan Brajović, expressed his satisfaction with the official visit of the representatives of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Montenegro of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Ms Parvaneh Salahshouri, the Head of the Group.
President Brajović pointed out that with the assession to NATO, Montenegro had achieved one of the biggest foreign policy goals, and in terms of European integration, the results had been achieved that placed Montenegro on the leading position in the region.
It was concluded at the meeting that there was room for intensifying parliamentary and economic cooperation, especially in the field of tourism and cultural exchange, considering the potentials of the two countries, which would be significantly contributed by visa liberalisation, as well as the establishment of a direct airline.
The Head of the Friendship Group with Montenegro of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, pointed out that one of the goals of Iran was to have friendly relations with all countries, regardless of their size and the number of inhabitants, because, as she said, each country could have an impact on the state of play in its own environment. Ms Salahshouri also highlighted the interest of Iran in signing umbrella documents and agreements with Montenegro, as a basis for cooperation in all fields of mutual interest.
