President of the Parliament with Hungarian MFA Mr Péter Szijjártó

It is realistic to expect that during the next three years Montenegro will open the remaining negotiation chapters and meet all interim benchmarks for chapters 23 and 24 - this is one of conclusions from today’s  meeting of President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović and Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade MR Péter Szijjártó.

President Brajović thanked for the strong support that Hungary has been continuously providing to Montenegro, both with regard to our full membership of NATO, and our reform processes on the European integration path.

During the meeting, President Brajović informed Minister Szijjártó about the most important activities in the Parliament as well as with the current political development in Montenegro and the region.

The interlocutors agreed that the regatta principle and assessment of individual results of each states was a good approach, and that Montenegro’s example can send a strong message to other candidates that the Western Balkans had a real perspective.
