OSCE/ODIHR representatives positively assess activities of the Working Group

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today hosted Head of the OSCE Mission in Montenegro Ms Maryse Daviet and ODIHR External Expert Mr Don Bisson, who was also Deputy Head for the 2016 ODIHR Election Observation Mission in Montenegro. The meeting was attended by MP Ms Marta Šćepanović, Head of the Working Group for the Implementation of the OSCE/ODIHR Recommendations.

The OSCE/ODIHR representatives assessed positively activities of the Working Group so far as well as prepared proposals for laws on amendments to laws on: the voter register, the financing of political subjects and electoral campaigns, electronic media and the election of councillors and MPs.

President Brajović thanked for positive reviews, saying that he expected that the entire process of reviewing and adopting amendments to relevant legislation would be finished by the end of this year in an open and constructive parliamentary discussion.

The Head of the OSCE Mission expressed pleasure with the readiness of Montenegrin government to continue to additionally improve the electoral legislation, in line with the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations.
