President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović wishes happy Foundation Day of the Old Royal Capital Cetinje - 4 January:

“Wise Ivan Crnojević knew that strong foundation of a state is built on even stronger rock from which Montenegrin Old Royal Capital emerged as a nursery garden and shelter of highlanders and tribes who, in the waves of historical turmoil, with shield and sword, visions and ideas, thought and scripture, provided the eternity of Montenegrin freedom and statehood.

We, as descendants of warriors and saints, intellectuals and peasants, workers and entrepreneurs, are obliged never to allow the capital’s flame of freedom to be extinguished. In spring 2017 we ratified the agreement on joining NATO in Cetinje, and in the upcoming years we will sign the long-awaited agreement on joining the European Union.

In the ambiance of European integration, by developing and valuing industrial and tourist potentials, I am convinced that better times are ahead of the Old Royal Capital.
