President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović has sent an invitation to presidents of parliamentary parties for consultations about presidential elections which will be called for in the legally prescribed deadline - by 20th January.
In his letter addressed to presidents of parliamentary parties, the President of the Parliament shows his intention to share - prior to fulfilling his constitutional obligation - calling for presidential elections, views with elected representatives of citizens, in the spirit of good political practice.
The President of the Parliament wants to ensure in this manner as well that all political parties can egage in constructive talk and give a joint contribution to fair and democratic election environment by sharing their views and by offreing suggestions.
President Brajović will also inform presidents of political parties on arrival of the ODIHR Assessment Mission, which will stay in our country upon the invitation of the Montenegrin authorities. The aim of the mission is to assess pre-election environment and preparation of the upcoming elections, on the basis of which the ODIHR will bring a decision on carrying out the necessatry activities in the observation process.
