President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today has called for Montenegro’s presidential election on Sunday, 15 April 2018.
- I believe that the election will be held in a positive and democratic atmosphere and that all of us together will show once more why Montenegro is a leader in the region. I invite all citizens of age to vote in the election and elect the best candidate, said the President of the Parliament.
President Brajović also notified President Filip Vujanović, and he will also notify relevant international institutions.
The election of the President of the State is called for by the President of the Parliament, pursuant to Article 89 paragraph 2 of the Constitution of Montenegro. The deadline for carrying out electoral procedures starts running from the day of calling for the election, while proposals for candidates for the President of Montenegro shall be submitted to the State Election Commission until 26 March 2018.
