Mr Brajović and Mr Korčok on cooperation between Montenegro and Slovakia

The meeting of President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović and Acting Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Mr Ivan Korčok noted that traditionally good relations between the two countries were following the upward path, while a regular political dialogue at the highest level was a confirmation of a strong partnership and a mutual commitment to further strengthening of the overall cooperation.

President Brajović thanked Slovakia for their continuous support to Montenegro’s membership of NATO, with expectation that the two states would develop strong allied cooperation within the Alliance. He welcomed recently adopted Enlargement Strategy for the WB, which strongly indicates the European perspective of the regional countries.  He particularly stressed the importance of the evaluating the individual achievements of each country on their road to the European Union.

Acting Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Mr Korčok stressed that he supported the regatta principle in accessing the EU, which is extremely important for Montenegro, since it is definitely a regional leader.

During the meeting of the two officials, they also shared views on current economic developments and possibilities for economic cooperation between Montenegro and Slovakia.
