President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović and non-residential Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr Eldar Hasanov agreed that the two countries had excellent relations and that investment project carried out in this moment were a good basis for even more intensive economic cooperation.
Ambassador Hasanov assessed the recent visit of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro to the Republic of Azerbaijan as extremely successful and very important for strengthening of the overall cooperation between the two countries.
President Brajović reiterated that Montenegro highly appreciated the fact that our country was the country with the largest direct investments from Azerbaijan, after Turkey.
The interlocutors agreed that the planned appointment of Montenegro’s diplomatic representative in Baku would facilitate operational communication at all levels, and it is expected that the seasonal opening of charter flights will significantly increase the tourist exchange.
The meeting also discussed the political situation in Montenegro and Azerbaijan and the upcoming presidential elections which will be held next month in both countries.
