President of the Parliament Mr Ivan Brajović attends ratification of NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro in the Croatian Parliament

The President thanked Croatia for its strong support

 

Upon invitation by Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Mr Božo Petrov, President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today attended the sitting of the Croatian Parliament where the Law on Ratification of NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro was adopted. 

During his meeting with the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, President Brajović thanked Croatia for its strong support to European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro and expressed pleasure over the fact that Croatia was the first country he visited as President of the Parliament of Montenegro. He pointed out that good neighbourly relations between the two countries might serve as an example for the entire region and added that, in the upcoming period, the two parliaments would try to establish new models of cooperation thus further strengthening mutual ties and discussions on topics of key significance for citizens of both countries. 

Speaker Petrov voiced his pleasure due to ratification of the Protocol in the Parliament, because Croatia strongly advocated further enlargement of the North-Atlantic Alliance. Mr Petrov has also said that Croatia remained open to continue to give support to Montenegro on its path towards the European Union, and he offered sincere congratulations to Mr Brajović on his being elected President of the Parliament of Montenegro. 

President Brajović extended the invitation to Speaker Petrov to visit Montenegro, which he accepted with pleasure.
