- Poland is Montenegro’s friend on its road to the EU, ready to provide any kind of assistance. We expect that soon we will be partners in the EU as well, members of a delegation of the Poland - Montenegro parliamentary Friendship Group, headed by Chair of the Group Mr Grzegorz Matusiak, stressed at the meeting with President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović.
The President of the Parliament stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and creating political grounds for further development of economic cooperation.
President Brajović thanked for the strong support of Poland to integration of the Western Balkans into European and Euro-Atlantic structures, and for referring to Montenegro as a regional leader in the EU accession process. Following the presidential and local elections, in the future Montenegro will be devoted even more intensively to reforms, the President of the Parliament said.
Bearing in mind that Poland is a country with strong economic growth, the meeting also discussed the strengthening of relations especially in the field of tourism and energy as strategic branches of Montenegro’s development.
President Brajović reminded of meaningful meetings with Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Mr Marek Kuchciński and Marshal of the Senate Mr Stanisław Karczewski, whom he met during the Summit of Speakers of Central and Eastern Parliaments in Warsaw last year in May.
