President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović wished a happy Municipality Day of Žabljak to the citizens and the local leadership of Žabljak, marked on 17 September:

“Owing to Durmitor and its untouched natural beauty, which makes it one of the most beautiful mountains in Europe, Žabljak has noted a record number of tourist visits in recent years. In addition to the extraordinary conditions for the development of winter and summer tourism, the winter tourist capital of Montenegro also has large agricultural, water and forestry riches which provide opportunities for the development and advancement of domestic farms and companies, as well as the investment of Montenegrin and foreign capital in the everlasting values and potential of the most beautiful and the most challenging Montenegrin mountain. With the existing infrastructure that needs to be permanently developed and adapted to both touristic and economic challenges, with the unequivocal preservation of the environment as well as the setting up of agricultural households and plants for the production and processing of organic food and plants, the promotion of the wood industry and the valorisation of hydro-potential, I believe that better times and a more certain existence await Žabljak and the people of Durmitor.
