President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović talked with Chair of the Serbia - Montenegro parliamentary Friendship Group Mr Igor Bečić, within the visit of the Serbian parliamentarians to Montenegro.
During the talks, they jointly noted that stronger parliamentary cooperation was particularly important for strengthening the overall relations and cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Intensive political dialogue of the legislatures at all levels will contribute to better mutual understanding - this is a common assessment of the meeting.
- Montenegro is following the negotiations of Belgrade and Priština, important for the stabilisation of the situation in the region and welcomes the efforts made by both sides with the aim of achieving the appropriate solution, President of the Parliament of Montenegro said.
Bearing in mind the commitment of the two states to join the EU, the importance of maintaining the dynamics of the enlargement process was also discussed during the conversation, whereby Chair of the Serbia - Montenegro parliamentary Friendship Group Mr Bečić emphasised that for Serbia the experience and support of Montenegro were exceptionally important, given that it progressed the most in the accession process.
