At the meeting held today, President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović with representatives of political parties with MPs in the 26th Parliament of Montenegro, and with other Collegium members in attendance, discussed the forming of a parliamentary body to deal with improvement of electoral legislation.
President of the Parliament informed representatives of political parties about previous activities, proposals and initiatives of MP Groups relating to preparation for improvement of electoral environment. The attendees discussed key prerequisites for getting the best possible solutions to be included in the electoral legislation and implemented in future electoral cycles.
It has been agreed that the proposals of representatives of political parties present today should be formally submitted, so that they could be considered at the Collegium of the President, and the MP Groups should delegate members who would work on the adoption of the Decision on the forming of a parliamentary body to deal with improvement of electoral legislation.
Today’s meeting was attended by the following: Democratic Party of Socialists, New Serb Democracy, Movement for Changes, Social Democratic Party, Democratic People’s Party, Social Democrats of Montenegro, Bosniak Party, Socialist People's Party, Democratic Alliance, United Montenegro, Liberal Party of Montenegro, Labour Party, New Democratic Power - Forca, and Croatian Civic Initiative. Representatives of the Democratic Montenegro and the United Reform Action did not attend.
