President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Ivan Brajović, hosted today for an inaugural visit the new Ambassador of the United States of America to Montenegro, Ms Judy Rising Reinke. President Brajović expressed gratitude for the previous US support to Montenegro during past years since the restoration of statehood, especially to NATO membership of our country.
Interlocutors agreed that parliaments represented an important part of the democratic system and fundamental social values, and the work on strengthening parliamentary cooperation should be continued.
Ambassador Reinke pointed to the priorities of building capacities for effective engagement within the Euro-Atlantic community, as well as reforms on the European path of Montenegro. The President of the Parliament and the USA Ambassador stressed the mutual interest for the priority strengthening of bilateral economic cooperation.
President Brajović thanked the Ambassador for expressed personal desire to be engaged in better mutual acquaintance of the citizens of the two countries and deepening the ties between friendly nations of partner countries with common values.
