President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Ivan Brajović, congratulated the citizens and the local government of Cetinje on the establishment of the Old Royal Capital – 4 January:

"The Old Royal Capital of Cetinje, a symbol of Montenegrin statehood and freedom, has resisted many internal and external pressures for centuries, paid for its freedom with victims, but managed to preserve its own and Montenegrin essence around which we are still gathering today

Even today, like in the past, during both ceremonious and dramatic circumstances, the Old Royal Capital remained a city of history, tradition and spirituality, without which both the Montenegrin and European past could not be imagined.

Cetinje should preserve all its spiritual and material treasures inherited by the generations, and the state, local government and all its inhabitants would join forces and confirm the status of the artistic and tourist center to the Old Royal Capital.

I sincerely congratulate 4 January, the Day of establishment of the Old Royal Capital."
