President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Ivan Brajović, sent the congratulatory message to the believers who celebrate Christmas according to the Julian calendar:

"Holidays that have always instilled faith and hope of a free and better tomorrow for the Montenegrins, and for the members of other Orthodox nations, are today bringing back to memory beautiful and noble moments in Montenegro, as well as memories of the painful centuries, in which Christmas was celebrated as joy and endurance regardless of the situation.

Religious holidays in Montenegro, including the most joyous Christian holiday of Christmas, represent the celebration of coexistence and mutual respect, arising from permanent human and civilizational values, preached by every religion, but also by every man born to work and create, respect and forgive, love and appreciate, because only in this way will he be respected, loved and appreciated.

With the desire to spend the forthcoming holidays in joy, peace and understanding, I wish merry Christmas to all Orthodox believers."
