President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today has received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Montenegro Ms Songül Ozan, wishing her a successful diplomatic mission.
- You came to a friendly country and it is our expectation that you will, using excellent potential for cooperation, contribute to further strengthening of relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Turkey in all fields - said President Brajović.
During the conversation, they especially discussed the improvement of parliamentary cooperation, both at the highest level and the level of committees and friendship groups, with appropriate previous communication.
- I am honoured to be appointed Ambassador to the friendly Montenegro with which the Republic of Turkey has been developing partner relations within NATO - pointed out Ambassador Ozan, adding that our country in Turkey represented a model of inter-ethnic and inter-faith harmony, as well as a country which had achieved considerable success in the field of European integration.
Bearing in mind rich regional diplomatic experience of Ambassador Ozan, they exchanged views on the situation in the Western Balkans countries. The President of the Parliament especially commended Turkey’s efforts in hosting a large number of Syrian refugees.
