President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today has hosted the non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Montenegro Mr Jan Lundin, with whom he discussed the significance of parliamentary dialogue, political and economic relations between Montenegro and Sweden, as well as the developments in the country and the region.
President of the Parliament emphasised that the work on improvement of electoral legislation was only possible within the institutional framework, in line with powers of citizens which were won at the elections. The need to strengthen parliamentary dialogue and responsibility of all elected representatives in the Parliament was also especially highlighted yesterday at the SAPC held in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The interlocutors agreed that the two friendly states should intensify their parliamentary cooperation, as well as economic relations, especially in the field of energy. With regard to regional developments, President Brajović pointed out that Montenegro supported a dialogue in resolving all open issues, with the expectation that decisions be a contribution to the long-term stability of the region. In that context, they pointed out special value of multi-national and multi-religious harmony in Montenegro.
