Meeting Mr Brajović - Mr Filo: Montenegro and Albania may serve as an example of neighbouring countries

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today met Ambassador of Albania to Montenegro Mr Ernal Filo.

 

The meeting assessed that the two countries have been continuously developing friendly relations, based on the principle of mutual trust and respect. The fact that these two neighbouring countries have no open issues is extremely important for further progress of the overall cooperation and strengthening of regional stability - the interlocutors noted during the meeting.

Support of Albania to Montenegro’s membership of NATO and exchange of experiences with regard to EU integration, as well as mutual cooperation at regional and multilateral plan, are the part of harmonious political relations of Albania and Montenegro.

- We have assessed that Montenegro and Albania are exemplary of good cooperation between neighbouring countries which have clear foreign policy aims. In our talk we concluded that strengthening of road infrastructure, joint projects on preservation and valorisation of Lake Skadar, energy and other potentials are or great importance for the equal economic development of all parts of Montenegro and Albania, President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović said.  

During the meeting, they assessed that traditionally harmonious international relations and loyalty of minorities to the state of Montenegro, strengthened by their active participation in the parliamentary work, are of exceptional value in politically sensitive environment.
