With regard to media reports on possible misuse of parliamentary funds, the Collegium of the President has stated that reports and recommendations of the internal auditor were significantly indicative, whereupon internal commission was established in December 2016.

Detailed insight and control of financial documents revealed a possible misuse of parliamentary funds and the Parliament of Montenegro filed criminal charges at the beginning of January 2017.

Members of the Collegium expressed confidence that timely action has been undertaken, by filing criminal charges, and that now competent state authorities should determine the facts and possible individual accountability.

The Collegium expects that the competent state authorities will provide full information on this case as soon as possible, since that is in the interest of the total Montenegrin public and employees in the Parliament.
