President of the European Parliament Mr David Maria SASSOLI invited President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović to take part in the European Parliament - Western Balkans Speakers’ Summit, which will be held on Tuesday 28 January 2020 in the European Parliament in Brussels.

The invitation letter of President Sassosli says, inter alia, that the European Parliament has always been a staunch supporter of the EU membership perspective of the Western Balkan countries, not least by providing tangible assistance to the respective national parliaments.  The Summit will deal with developing a strategy on the role of parliaments in driving forward the EU reform agenda and in delivering concrete measures that meet the European aspirations of the people of the region.

- The Speakers Summit will give us an opportunity to confirm the strong will of the parliaments - elected representatives of our citizens - to be genuine and effective drivers of reforms, says, inter alia, the letter of President of the European Parliament Mr Sassoi to President of Montenegrin Parliament Mr Brajović.
