President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today has hosted Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Mr Gordan Grlić Radman.
President of the Parliament assessed that the relations of the two friendly countries were very good, and that in the following period they should continue strengthening them in all fields. President Brajović expressed satisfaction that Croatia was focused on enlargement policy during its presidency of the European Union. Support for the European prospects of the region was also confirmed at the EU-Western Balkans Summit, organised despite the circumstances caused by the Covid pandemic 19. Speaking about domestic developments, he pointed out that Montenegro can rightly be proud of its multinational and multi-confessional character, which makes a significant contribution to the regional stability.
All attempts to endanger the harmonious coexistence and the civil and secular character of Montenegro will be unsuccessful - Mr Brajović said.
Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Mr Gordan Grlić Radman confirmed Croatia's unequivocal and strong support for Montenegro's European path. He emphasised Croatia's readiness and intention to open the only remaining negotiating chapter 8 - Competition by the end of their presidency. He especially emphasised his satisfaction with the fact that Croats in Montenegro foster their heritage and maintain the tradition, and at the same time they are loyal citizens of Montenegro.
The interlocutors exchanged views on how the two countries faced the Covid 19 pandemic, as well as further steps in dealing with the consequences of the virus.
Members of the Montenegro-Croatia parliamentary Friendship Group Mr Adrijan Vuksanović and Mr Andrija Nikolić also attended the meeting.
