President Brajović today talks with the Hungarian Ambassador

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today received Hungarian Ambassador Mr József Négyesi. 

President Brajović said that Montenegro and Hungary had excellent bilateral relations, whereby meaningful parliamentary cooperation has made a significant contribution to that end. He thanked for the readiness of the Hungarian Parliament to share knowledge and experience with regard to implementing projects funded by the European Union, emphasising that the Parliament of Montenegro remained committed to further improvement of its work and strengthening administrative capacity. President Brajović emphasised that Hungary's support for reform activities in Montenegro is an expression of friendship and understanding between the two countries. Emphasising that Montenegro is making constant progress, the expected progress in European integration would be a strong motive for further reforms, the President of the Parliament concluded.

Ambassador Négyesi conveyed the intention of the Hungarian Parliament to intensify cooperation with the Parliament in the coming period, as one of the most important institutions of Montenegro for policy-making. He pointed out that his country would continue to strongly support the integration of Montenegro into the European Union, as it did in connection with NATO membership, bearing in mind their importance for this region and Europe.

The interlocutors also discussed the current events caused by Covid 19, emphasising the need for cooperation, understanding and solidarity for overcoming the challenges.
