President Brajović thanked Ms Mogherini for supporting Montenegro in meeting its strategic goals, whereby her working visit to our country as well as address in the Parliament gave a special touch to that.
I said to the High Representative that Montenegro will continue to be a strong promoter of democratic principles and values fostered by the European Union in the Western Balkans region. We believe that EU integration is the best framework for implementing internal reforms and improving the quality of life of our citizens. Activities of the Parliament of Montenegro are directed towards strengthening the rule of law as the foundation of European integration. We have adopted more than 60 reform laws in the previous period. Positive assessment by all relevant international stakeholders, high turnout of the citizens of Montenegro and their major support to the European path are the best confirmation of validity of long-term orientation of our country - Mr Brajović pointed out.
He also added that all political parties declaring themselves as being pro-European and Euro-Atlantic must be aware that they should continue fighting for their political goals in the Parliament.
The interlocutors stated that Montenegro continuously and actively participated in the regional cooperation, thus contributing to stability and security of the Western Balkans. The responsible approach of Montenegro is reflected in the cultivation of good neighbourly relations, compliance with the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU, as well as commitment to European values, they concluded at the meeting.
